Skatepark of San Marcos

This website will focus on the Skatepark of San Marcos featuring the park itself as well as the obstacles I enjoy skating recently.

My name is Campbell Stropp and I am a student at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. I am originally from Austin, TX. I decided to make my project about the skatepark of San Marcos because my opinion has changed so drastically on the park in the past few months. Originally I didn’t enjoy it and thought the layout was too awkward. As I skate there more I’m learning how to flow better throughout the park and create new routes. Now each time I go I have more fun than the last.

Park Tour and Fun

This page features a video I made on the skatepark, it includes a POV of riding through the park as well as clips of the obstacles mentioned on the My 5 Favorite Obstacles page. I do thoroughly enjoy the park however the layout is a bit awkward with some obstacles being too close together or not having enough run up space. I’m a big fan of the bowls at the park, the bigger one is a little easier to skate and has some nice features. The smaller pool bowl is definitely more challenging but I’ve been trying to get more comfortable with it. Overall I really like this park despite some of the strange placement of obstacles.
